For those of you who don't get the joke of the title, it's a popular meme, and if you don't know what a meme is, I don't know what to tell you...Any who, this is something I did to decorate my home for Valentine's day.  I bought two vases and silk roses at the Dollar General (made sure one vase fit in the other first) then bought some candy hearts.  I put the smaller vase in the larger, put my hand over the smaller vase, and poured the candy in.  I really enjoy this and plan on changing the filling out to match the season/ holiday.  Oh, and the flowers will definitely change as well :).

Verdict:  Pintastic!

Neat way to store your makeup brushes

I recently purchased a vanity, and figured now was the best time to do this.  I found the glass holder and the stones at Dollar General for $1.  There's not really much to say about this except for the fact that I appreciate not having to dig around in my makeup bag for the brushes anymore.

Verdict:  Pintastic!  And there are so many possibilities that can be done with this to make it your own.

Galaxy Nails

This is another nail art that I attempted.  I didn't have the colors illustrated in the original pin, but I think it still came out good.  I used a base coat, then applied black on my nails.  I took a makeup sponge and patted on a dark blue color, then a light green color, and finally, the pink.  Then I applied a clear glitter polish over all that and finally the top coat.  Remember to wait for each coat to dry before you apply the next.

Verdict:  Pintastic!  And very simple and easy.

Panda nails

So besides being an awesome mommy and a fabulous wife, I am also an aspiring cosmetologist.  My career is put on hold for now, but will resume once my life is not so crazy.  One thing I really enjoy is nail art.  I don't like my nails to be plain and boring, I like for them to stand out.  This panda nail art really appealed to me bc I like pandas, and I knew an easy way to do it, and I will share.  I started with a base coat, which makes the polish adhere to the nail better and longer.  Pro tip:  Make sure your nails are dry and oil free.  You can do this easily by wiping them with a cloth, or they make a nail dehydrator that you would apply before the base coat.  After the base coat I applied pink polish bc I didn't like the emptiness of the original design, and I like pink :).  I painted a half circle on all my nails, then took a dotting stick to make the ears, eyes, and nose.  Apply top coat, and you're done.  Allow 15 min between coats bc if a coat is applied before the one below it is dry, it's easier to smudge and mess up the whole thing.  This is me talking from experience : /.

Verdict:  Pintastic!...If you have the patience and the time.

The writing on the wall

Today, Autumn's activity involved me taping up some sketch pad paper to the wall, giving her some crayons, and then let her color on the paper.  I know what you're thinking..."You let a toddler get near a wall with crayons?!!!".  First, I would like to point out that she was supervised the whole time.  I sat right next to her and encouraged her whenever she colored on the paper.  Only once did she try to color on the walls, but a stern "No" from me had her right back on the paper.  The only marks on the wall were accidental and easily removed with baby oil.  She super loved this activity.  She is really into the whole coloring thing right now, so this was right up her alley.  She even climbed up in her daddy's chair to reach the box of crayons on his desk so she could continue coloring after dinner.  I've decided to leave the paper on the wall for now, one, bc it's her beautiful artwork, and two, bc I feel she will get much play out of this for now.

Verdict:  Pintastic!

DIY fridge mats

Let's be honest.  The inside of our fridge can get pretty nasty.  Stuff leaks and you don't see it 'till it's already formed into a substance that cannot be removed with ordinary cleaner.  This pin changed my fridge's life.  I went to Big Lots and found these place mats for $1 each.  Came home, cleaned each shelf, measured and cut the place mats to fit, and the rest is history.  Cleaning is easy.  I just take them out, wipe them down, put them back in, and I'm done.  And, it looks pretty to boot. This was definitely a great (and stylish) find.

Organizing drawers using shoe boxes.

I am a clutterbug when it comes to putting stuff in drawers.  It's so easy to do.  You don't feel like putting something away at the moment so you shove it in your "junk drawer" and it's out of site, and now probably lost forever.  I swear I had little "junk drawer" gnomes stealing things that I put in there, bc when the time came that I needed something that I had previously put in, I couldn't find it any where.  So naturally, when I saw this pin, I figured this was what I needed.  That and I had about a million shoe boxes in my closet for God knows what reason.  So I gathered up my boxes, headed down to the "junk drawer" and dumped it's contents out.  Oh look...there's that one thing I spent 7 hours looking for yesterday...  I measured and cut the boxes, organized everything in there real nice, and, voila!  Organization rules again.  No longer called my "junk drawer", this is now my "odds and ends" drawer.  But the good news is, I know where everything is.  Next, I'm going to tackle my "delicates" drawer :P.

Victoria's Secret model's full body 10 min workout circuit.

I saw this on Pinterest, and I was like "Perfect!  A workout that only takes 10 min.!".  But then my cynical side reared it's ugly head and was like "There's no way a 10 min workout will have any effect on it's on.  Boy was I wrong...  Sadly, there are no before or after pictures bc I haven't done this enough for any true results, but I can tell you that even though the workout is only 10 min, you will feel like you did hours of working out the next day.  I'm interested to see some before and after pics if any of you decide to try it and see any results!

Verdict:  Pintastic!  I really feel this will show glorious results if done every other day.

Hanging made easy with waxed paper.

So for Christmas, I received this awesome multi-size frame kit, which I couldn't wait to get home and use.  Since Autumn was born we have been accumulating photos from photo shoots waiting for the right frame set.  I saw a post on pinterest explaining a simple way to hang up photo arrangements, which I was grateful for because I hate doing all the measuring and making sure it's straight, only to put up the arrangement and find it crooked : /.  All you have to do is put your photos in the frames, then lay the frames face down in the arrangement that you would like.  Take as many sheets of wax paper that you need to cover all the frames, and make marks where the nails would go.  Then tape the wax paper to the wall and hammer the nails in where indicated.  Tear down the waxed paper, hang up the frames, and, BAM, a beautiful arrangement in half the time.

Verdict:  Pintastic!...although it doesn't help if you take the picture crooked lol

Painting with yogurt.

Today, Autumn and I tried painting with yogurt.  I was very enticed with the idea since, her being a 1 year old and putting everything in her mouth, she could eat the paint!.  So I put a spoonful of yogurt into separate plastic cups, added food coloring, and let her dive right in.  I let her use an old turkey serving platter that I had as the canvas.  She really had fun...for 5 min.  After that, she would dip her fingers in the yogurt and run away licking them, watch some TV, then repeat.  I was very impressed how vivid the colors were, and liked the idea that it was nontoxic, however, I may wait to repeat this project once she gets older.

Overall rating...Pintastic for children older than 1
